The Nature Research collection was created in Sri Lanka using natural history illustrations by biologist and artist Ernst Haeckel, adapted to the shape of a surfboard.A unique feature of this series is our custom cork-covered stoppers that touch the floor instead of the wood. They make riding quieter, smoother, protect the floor from scratches and allow you to ride without a mat.

Features

Balanceboard Nature Research is a small surf for your home.

Designed for people who want to improve balance and coordination, strengthen their legs and core, clear their head a little or simply add more movement to everyday life.

• Improves balance and coordination
• Helps strengthen core and stabilizer muscles
• Adds more movement to daily life
• Helps reset the mind
• Works both as training and pure fun

The deck is CNC-cut for precise symmetry and smoothly sanded edges.

In this series we use a more advanced stopper profile with cork-covered contact surfaces.

The outer angle is shaped so the board touches the floor with cork instead of the wood edge. This makes riding quieter, protects the floor from scratches and allows you to ride without a mat.

The inner angle is also shaped in a special way, so the roller does not hit the stopper with a sharp impact, but slows down more smoothly at the edge points.

These stoppers are significantly more difficult to manufacture, but they make the ride smoother and more comfortable.

The roller is made from durable plastic and covered with cork for quieter and smoother riding.

In our opinion, cork is one of the best materials for a balance board — grippy when needed, but still smooth enough for flowing slides.

We do not recommend using the set on wet, dirty or rough surfaces such as coarse asphalt.

A balance board can be used both for training and simply for everyday movement at home.

People use it to improve balance, coordination, stabilization and body control. It works for surf training, snowboarding, skateboarding, yoga, fitness or simply as a way to move a little after a long day.

Do I need a mat?

Not necessarily.

This collection uses our custom stopper system with angled cork-covered contact surfaces that touch the floor softly instead of hitting it with a hard edge. They help protect the floor, make riding quieter and allow the board to be comfortably used without a mat on most flat surfaces.

Riding a balance board always depends on the surface underneath it. The harder the surface, the faster and more responsive the roller feels.

For beginners, a mat can still be a good option at the start because it slightly slows the roller down and makes balancing easier.

We do not recommend using the set on wet or slippery surfaces.

Beginner advice

Your first balance board sessions will probably look a little funny. That’s completely normal - we’ve all been there. And honestly, we’re a little jealous, because the beginner stage is where most of the fun happens.

For your first rides, we recommend starting near a wall, on a mat or with a friend holding your hands. It helps you understand the roller movement and find your balance more easily.

The best way to ride is barefoot or in shoes with good grip. The board can feel slippery in socks.
